Order Production Report

The Order Production Report gives your kitchen detailed production information for one event or order. It includes the Customer and event details, the items ordered, the quantities your kitchen needs to prepare, and the Station responsible for each item.

Unlike the Food Prep Report, which combines matching Prep Items into totals, the Order Production Report keeps the production information connected to the individual order. This makes it especially helpful for orders with several menu items, individual box lunches, platters, or other selections your kitchen needs to see separately.

When to Use the Order Production Report

The Order Production Report works well when your kitchen needs to:

  • Prepare food for one specific event or order
  • Keep production quantities connected to the original menu items
  • See which Station is responsible for each item
  • Review Customer and event information along with the production details
  • Print a separate production report for each order on a busy day

If you need one combined list of everything your kitchen must prepare across several orders, the Food Prep Report or V2 Kitchen Production Report may be a better fit.

How Stations Organize the Report

The Order Production Report uses Stations to help your kitchen see who is responsible for preparing each item.

Your Stations may include:

  • Meats/Proteins
  • Hot Sides
  • Cold Sides
  • Salads
  • Breads
  • Desserts
  • Beverages

Using the same Station names throughout your Kitchen Production Formulas makes it easier for your team to move between production reports without having to learn a different organization system for each one.

The Station assigned to each item appears beside the production information on the report, helping each part of the kitchen quickly find what it needs to prepare.

Open the Report for One Order

  • Open the order you want to review.
  • Open the Order Functions menu.
  • Select Production Report.

The Order Production Report will open for that specific event.

Print Production Reports for Several Orders

If you need production reports for several individual orders, you can print them together from the Overview Tab.

  • Open the Overview Tab.
  • Select the date or date range you want to review.
  • Confirm that the orders you need appear in the results.
  • Click Print All Reports.
  • Select the Order Production Report.

CaterZen will generate a separate Order Production Report for each order shown in your results. The quantities are not combined into one total, so your kitchen can work through each event individually.

This can be helpful when you have several box lunch, platter, or highly customized orders that need to remain separate.

Understanding the Order Production Report

The report includes:

  • Customer and event information
  • The menu items included in the order
  • The production quantities calculated by your Kitchen Production Formulas
  • The Station responsible for each item

For example, if an order includes several types of box lunches, the report keeps those items connected to the order instead of combining everything into one overall food total. Your kitchen can see what was ordered and what needs to be prepared for that particular event.

If Information Is Missing or Incorrect

If a quantity is missing or does not look correct, review the Kitchen Production Formula connected to that menu item.

Check that:

  • The correct Prep Item was added to the formula
  • The production quantity and unit of measurement are correct
  • The appropriate Station was selected
  • Any rounding settings reflect how your kitchen prepares the item
  • The formula is attached to the correct menu item, option, or choice

After making a change, run the report again to confirm the updated quantity.
